Pineal Movement exhibited at Art See Ocean Gallery, Västerljung, Sweden
Prominently featured in sacred art and architecture of ancient cultures, pinecones often symbolize 'pineal gland' and 'Third eye' — the cerebral organ of supreme universal connection. <Pineal Movements> structuralizes dialectical unification of orderly nature with pinecones as the predominant motif and the ingredient for creation. In this installation of sculptures and drawings, a pinecone's complementary traits are utilized to create abstractions and resemblances to certain patterns of nature such as womb, helix, horn, and hill. Between each linkage of pinecones exists a dynamic movement along a continuum from the interior to exterior, from smooth to rough, from rounded to angular, and from bound to scattered. In the background, 936 Hz tone plays to help activate the actual pineal glands of the audience.

The show was featured with Y∞n Hong's interview on the local newspaper, Södermanland Nyheter (SM) and exhibited at Art See Ocean Gallery, Västerljung , Sweden on June 30th.
On the show-day, Erik Winqvist, a Swedish musician and performer, improvised music for the sculptures and drawings that resonated with the audience and himself. He described each piece with his own impressions and feelings before playing the saxophone and flute; the audience were also encouraged to participate in throwing comments for the work.
After the exhibition, the sculptures were returned to Nature as Y∞n had collected the pinecones in the forests of Västerljung. Her works were to age naturally within each different natural setting such as ocean, grassland, and woods. The resulted photographs manifest uncanny relationship between Art and Mother Nature, and creator and creation, as she also places herself next to her piece as the creator of it and the creation of Nature.
